Project Overview



Architectural Skin has the potential to be dynamic and energy-saving.

The goal of this research is to try out some interdisciplinary methods to visually appealing and functional the skin of buildings.

By controlling the panel (skin unit), the amount of light can be adjusted based on the real-time light condition (data collected by the light sensor). Meanwhile, some specific messages can be communicated through the façade.

Research


I created some similar but slightly offset templates. According to the Moiré Effect Theory, when two identical repetitive patterns of lines, circles, or arrays of dots are overlapped with imperfect alignment, there will appear some interference patterns.
